Valentine's Day is a celebration of love, but too often we narrowly define that love as an outward expression toward others. What about the love we have for ourselves? I frequently hear people talk about their struggle with loving themselves, exactly as they are.
This event will focus on the work of leading researchers in the field of self-compassion and teach the tools for treating yourself more kindly, and with more patience, care, and love.
The workshop will incorporate discussion, self-reflection, opportunities for writing and journaling, as well as mindfulness to demonstrate the science behind self-compassion and also to give participants a chance to test it out in a warm, safe, and collaborative environment.
Mindfulness self-compassion practice is traditionally taught in an 8 week format. This session will serve as an introduction to basic concepts around self-compassion with opportunity for further study and practice over the coming weeks and months.
No prior meditation experience necessary and everyone is welcome to this event.
This event will be held at One Epic Place in New Paltz. Space will be limited and RSVPs are greatly appreciated. $25 cash or card at the door or purchase tickets online through the link below.
