pragmatic

Mindfulness is not only for serious-minded gurus in the mountainsides. Mindfulness is available to anyone willing to pause briefly and pay attention.

Pragmatism is understood as something being true only as much as it is useful. If the practice doesn’t call or welcome you to the cushion regularly, what is the point?

I teach meditation and mindfulness to be easily accessible to everyone in their everyday lives. You don’t have to arrive at meditation already wise and able to sit silently for hours on end. The practice will get you there (or to your defined version of “there”). Come as you are from where you are.

Spirit

Just because something is simple, doesn’t mean it’s easy. The work of mindfulness is deep work. It calls us to get real with ourselves, to get over ourselves, and to accept things as they are, exactly as they are.

This sometimes requires the undoing of a lifetime of clinging to what we crave, rejecting what causes us discomfort, and numbing….with work, with electronic devices, with binging; be it TV, food, or substances.

Mindfulness practice will bring you fully back to yourself through seated meditation and the study of ancient concepts and traditions in contemporary life. And while this practice arrives to us from the Buddhist tradition, it is open to everyone and applicable to every spiritual orientation.

Pragmatic Spirit

Like its sister division, Alchemy Behavioral Health Coaching, this community of meditators is guided by principles of psychology, Buddhist philosophy, holistic well-being, and practical application for everyday life in an everyday world.

We make all intentions and efforts to be inclusive, trauma-informed, and approachable for anyone who seeks it.

Our focus on the spirit is the honoring of the goodness, the Buddha, the hope and light that resides in each of us. Om namah shivaya.
