Sex, Sexuality, + Wellbeing, Pt 1 (with Theresa Hitchcock, Certified Sex Educator)
Listen here or wherever you get your podcasts!
Courtney is thrilled to welcome Theresa Hitchcock to the podcast! Theresa and Courtney first connected over a professional development opportunity geared toward female identifying professionals working in college student affairs. From there burst forth a mutual philosophy that ties together sex, sexuality, and wellbeing and a shared enthusiasm for talking about sex, masturbation, sexual identity, the ills of socialization, and sex toys!
That is what listeners will find in today's episode. Courtney and Theresa draw from their professional training and backgrounds, as well as their own personal histories and current sex lives, to have a frank, honest, transparent, and humorous look at how our sexual health is related to overall wellbeing. They discuss the ways they first first learned about the world of sex, themselves as sexual beings, and the ways these ideas become complicated for many of us due to societal pressures, religious morality, and family influences. They also talk as wives and mothers about the challenges of being connected with our physical selves in the presence of various life pressures. Amid all of that are mentions of mindfulness, yoga, relationships, the clitoris, communication with partners, self-knowledge, and body image. They cover A LOT of ground!
